I got a call from a dealer I've been talking to. He just got a L2600 w/FEL and Woods 5ft shredder in on trade. It has 45hrs on it and he's asking $13,900 for it.
Is this a fair price or should I just buy a new one and go with Kubota's cheap financing? The local banks want 20% down and about a 7% rate to finance this one.
Thanks for your help.

Art, what flat deck model would be comparable to this and which one would be the next step up in power?
Thanks ....

I thought the L-4300 was just great as far as a very simplistic tractor built with modestly convienient controls. Then they introduced the MX5000 and that was a step ahead and was till now. They brought the basic 80's tractors to 28 and 34 horsepower up to the 2000's with a near level deck. Definitly one you don't have to worry about a shift lever up your pant leg when getting off. There's the L-2800 which replaces the 2600 and the 3400. ....

Art,
I've got 53 acres - 20 is heavily wooded and I will occasionally be mowing the weeds on the rest of it that the cows won't eat. I've got 7 acres around the house and lake fenced and have a Scott's (J.D.) lawn tractor that I mow about 3 acres with. The land has a little roll to it and the soil is mostly sand with a clay base 2-5 feet down. Mostly oaks, cedars and yaupon. I'd like to have a FEL but the shredder is most important. I've got quite a few wild hogs and need a disc harrow to repair what they root up and figure the FEL would be helpful for that as well. I'm in South-central Texas so I get no snow and maybe 3 freezes a year.
Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated.

Paul sorry, I thought I'd posted back. I would be looking at the L-4300 for the best value here for you. The larger chassis would help to run a larger mower. The unit could go with industrial tires which would give you good floatation for on the sand where the ag tires would give you better traction in the clay but the would chew up a lawn. You would easily pull a larger mower for your maintence of the property which of coarse means less time pressure on you. ....

Thanks for all your help and counsel, Art. I'd originally thought I would probably need something between 30 - 40 hp but after reading about the things that some of the smaller CUTs have accomplished, I thought it might be possible to get the job done with something smaller.
Thanks again,
Paul ....
